I had the opporunity to take some pictures of some beautiful works of art this weekend. Click here to see more photos!
I caught a shot if this “ice bird” when all the ice and snow started melting out of the trees. I thought it was pretty sweet looking!!
I got a picture of this patch of thorns while out walking through the snow in the woods by my place. I liked that I was able to capture some green “life” in the midst of a winter snow. The light worked out great too…
Today Allan Harvey Jr. held a press conference to announce the future of Renegades Hockey in Richmond. The tough economy yet again is rearing its head in all parts of the lives of local citizens. If we do not get some help fast from sponsors, investors, and the city of Richmond; Harvey will be forced to submit the teams’ letter of suspension for the 2009-2010 season. This is not good news at all. Historically, teams who “take a year off” to regroup and get their finances together rarely make a return. Hockey has been in Richmond for decades and it would be a shame if this was the last season. I personally know season ticket holders that drive an hour or more each way on game nights to support Richmond hockey. Harvey was optimistic in telling us that he is in contact with a few potential investors who my be able to help keep this organization alive. Allan Harvey made it clear; our focus is still on finishing the season strong and winning a championship. With only a handful of home games left along with our Richmond Hockey Fights Cancer charity day, Renegades fans are left worrying if they will be looking for other means to spend their winter evenings next year.
Last night the Virginia democrats held yet another awesome JJ Dinner. As always the energy was high, the drinks flowed, and the party went on so late it was almost early. Our guest speaker for the evening was President William J. Clinton. I must say he has aged quite a bit since the last time I saw him, but nevertheless the ladies still love him! See more on my Flickr page….
Photography while driving is very dangerous! DO NOT ATTEMPT! Now that we got that outta the way; I love reading bumper stickers! I was behind this Yota cruisin through Carytown and this cat had a couple on his pickup that made me smirk….
I passed by this spot while on a walkabout douwntown. I have not stopped in for a plate yet but I plan to very soon. Folks in Richmond know, we got alot going on downtown. They trying to tear up the city, buildings are going down everyday, the history is being knocked down and swept up. We making way for a ballpark that will sit directly on some of the most important history, black history, in the country. $200,000 condos are going up all over the place while folks are still losing their homes. We need to start supporting small businesses in the community, before they get swept up with the rest of the city …
